Test Run
The instruction booklet said that it would be a good idea to do a test run. This uses just water and the steam function. It said to fill the pot to the #3 mark. I was so confused... Would that be 3 cups or 3 litres? I filled it to 3 litres, as it actually had the number 3 on it. Turns out to be a mistake.😑
Apparently, more water means the need for more time for the water to boil, in order to produce the steam for the pressure. See, I don't know why I didn't think of that! I then learned that pressure builds more quickly when there is a smaller amount of liquid. Huh! I didn't time it, but it was a very long time before there was enough pressure. You know how water doesn't seem to boil when you watch it heat up? 😅
Anyway, everything seems to be working. So off we go on our next step.... Making actual food!
